Aim
The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers and decision-makers/policy-makers from throughout the region to share research findings on the socio-economic impacts, adaptation measures, and policy responses related to climate change. The possibility of support for priority collaborative socio-economic research dealing with adaptation issues among South East Asian researchers will also be explored.
The objectives of the conference are:
- To provide an overview of national policies on adaptation strategies adopted by the governments of South East Asian countries in response to climate change;
- To share, discuss and highlight research findings on the impacts of, and adaptation and mitigation strategies on climate change in South East Asian countries;
- To discuss adaptation measures adopted by communities and local governments to address current and imminent climate change impacts;
- To identify research priorities, as well as potential collaborators and donors for such priorities; andÂ
- To develop a platform for networking and collaboration among relevant researchers and organizations involved in research on the economics of adaptation to climate change in South East Asia.
